We realize that you may have questions about your stay at Puffin Inn Bed and Breakfast.
We want to make sure your stay is as easy and relaxing as possible, so here are answers to some frequently asked questions.
Does each guest room have its own private bathroom?
Yes, all of our guest rooms have their own private bathroom. We do not have any shared bathrooms.
Can we walk to restaurants, shopping and the beach?
Puffin Inn is a short walk to our charming town center (a 1/2 mile from the Inn). The entrance to the 'Marginal Way', the scenic coastal walking path, is about 3/4 of a mile from the Inn. And our beautiful white sandy beach is approximately 3/4 mile from the Inn. If you prefer not to walk, Puffin Inn is located on a trolley line. A trolley stop is located just outside the Inn, and the trolley will take you anywhere in town for $1.50 per person.
What does breakfast consist of, and what time is it served?
Our breakfast menu changes daily. Each morning guests will be treated to fresh cut fruit and choice of juice, a homemade sweet bread and a choice between a sweet entrée or savory entrée. Additionally, we always offer a variety of teas, and fresh brewed coffee. Breakfast is served in the breakfast room or out on our open porch (seasonally) from 8:00am until 9:30am. Coffee is generally available by 7:30am.
Do you allow children?
All guest rooms accommodate only two guests. More than two people per room, regardless of age, is not permitted. Therefore the Inn may not suitable for children.
How many people can sleep in your guest rooms?
All guest rooms accommodate only two people. We do not have cots, cribs or pull-out sofas. More than two guests in one bed, or sleeping on the guest room floor, is not permitted.
Do you accept pets?
We're sorry, but we are unable to accommodate pets.
Are the guest rooms air conditioned?
Yes, all of our guest rooms have guest-controlled window unit air conditioners.
Is there internet available?
Complimentary wireless internet access is available throughout the Inn.
Do you have a pool, hot tub, or whirlpool bathtubs?
We do not have a pool or hot tub. Some of the bathrooms have a standard bathtub, but do not have whirlpool bathtubs.
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in time is between 3:00pm and 6:00pm. If arriving prior to 3:00pm, you may park your car and walk into town. During the busy peak season, guests will not be able to check-in until 3:00pm as housekeeping may still be in progress. Please let us know if you will be arriving after 6pm so we may arrange special late check-in instructions. For guests arriving after 7:00pm, a “Late Arrival” letter will be left at the front door along with your guest room key and directions to your room. Check out time is 10:30am.
How much deposit is required to reserve a guest room and what are your payment methods?
A deposit of one night's lodging is required for all reservations. Balance is due upon arrival. We accept Visa, MasterCard, cash and traveler's checks. Checks are accepted for deposits only. Confirmation of your reservation, and receipt of your deposit, will be forwarded by email.
What happens should I need to cancel my reservation?
Because we are a small bed and breakfast and a seasonal business, cancellations have a considerable impact. We therefore adhere strictly to our cancellation policy. Cancellations made 21 days or more prior to the arrival date will be guaranteed a refund less a $50.00 cancellation fee plus tax. Cancellations made less than 21 days prior to arrival date will be guaranteed any refund less the amount of a one night stay plus tax. No refunds for early departure. Guests departing prior to reserved length of time are charged for the entire number of nights reserved. We do not refund for inclement weather.
Do you have parking?
There is free on-site parking for one car per room. Unfortunately we do not have extra parking available for visitors of registered guests. Because we have limited parking, guests checking out must remove their cars from the parking area by 10:30 am to allow for incoming guests.
What other amenities are available in the guest rooms?
All of our guest rooms have a flat-screen TV with a DVD player, mini-fridge, wine glasses, corkscrew, hair dryer, iron and ironing board.
Can we bring our bikes?
Absolutely, although, Ogunquit streets are very narrow and traffic can be quite busy during the peak summer season. Therefore, biking can be very difficult. Biking is not allowed on the beach or Marginal Way.
Are there phones in the guest rooms?
Knowing almost everyone travels with their cell phones today, we do not have phones in our guest rooms. |
